WHAT'S going on? Haven't Deakin Estate been reading the script? Warm winegrowing regions like the Murray-Darling aren't supposed to produce quality fizz, let alone good fizz at $10. This chardonnay-pinot is an absolute steal, one that will give several highly fancied brands a genuine reality check over Christmas. It's fresh, lively and vigorous, with an attractive lemony dryness. A great "bubbles by the box" buy.

Lovely bubbles on this pale gold wine. Lemon biscuit and apple nose, very attractive. A really crisp fresh and stylish commercial wine, deliciously lemony lift with fresh zesty acidity to the finish. Joyful.

Gosh for under ten bucks this is extremely well put together. It's really quite delicate. Hugely fizzy. Flavours of lemon and yeast. Made with chardonnay and pinot noir – mostly chardonnay. Bursts with flavour through the finish. Freshness but a good amount of yeastiness too. Huge value. Made in tank rather than method champenoise, but for quaffing who's counting. Nice and dry. That's what I really like here - the dryness. It's like the Mildura soils. But then it bursts, crisp and clean and flavoursome, as it leaves your mouth. Rated : 86 Points

Quaffable Bubbly

This quaffable bubbly is ideal for customisation. While balance and flavour are good, a little embellishment via a dash of quality creme de cassis or a splash of brandy and Angostura bitters, takes it well out of budget bubbly zone.
